Maroon 5 has signed to Interscope Records and the group's fifth studio album, titled V, will be released on September 2. It will be preceded by a new single that will be released this summer. V was recorded in Los Angeles over the past year with producers Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin. The record also reunites Maroon 5 with long-time keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, who took a hiatus while the band recorded its last album, 2012's Overexposed.
Maroon 5 is coming off a very successful album cycle for Overexposed, which yielded the hit singles "Payphone," "Daylight," "Love Somebody" and "One More Night." That album was produced by many of the same beat-makers as the forthcoming V release.
In addition, Maroon 5 also has signed a worldwide tour deal with Live Nation, and tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Whether or not the tour will keep singer Adam Levine away from his coaching role on NBC's The Voice next spring remains to be seen, but he will definitely be present for Season 7 when it airs this fall.
