Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith had a drum-off last night on “The Tonight Show.” Smith and Ferrell, who happen to look very similar, also dressed exactly the same for their “greatest drummer” competition. The two banged out their best tricks, with Smith pulling out triplets, paradiddles, twirls, and stick throws. As a man of humor, Ferrell taunted Smith saying, “That was cute, do you play for the Luke Warm Chili Peppers?” At the end, Ferrell finished with a nod to one of his most famously known Saturday Night Live skits in which he plays the cowbell with the Blue Oyster Cult performing “Don't Fear the Reaper.” Check out the video below.

Kanye West
's wedding to Kim Kardashian may be the catalyst for a calmer LP release on the West horizon. The Yeezus predecessor has been described by an anonymous source, who has heard six of the current twelve total songs as, “mostly a mixture of soul samples and tamed Yeezus-esque darkness … nothing abrasive.” This lines up with what one of West's collaborators, Evian Christ, said earlier this year, “He emailed me last night. He wants something that sounds a bit like Otis Redding, a bit like Mobb Deep.”


As Aerosmith's contract with Sony Records has been fulfilled, the band members are now free agents. This puts the notion of any future album releases in a foggy mist, however. Guitarist Joe Perry told Rolling Stone, "We're trying to figure out what [being a free agent] means. I don't even know if making new albums makes sense anymore. Maybe we'll just release an EP every six months. I don't know what the future looks like." The reason for this could come from the undesirable performance of their 2012 LP Music From Another Dimension!, which was their first collection of original songs in over a decade. The album debuted at #5 on the charts and quickly fell off all together. "I'm obviously disappointed it didn't work out the way it was supposed to," says Perry. "But on the other hand, once a record is out, it's out forever. Maybe in two years someone might hear a song off it and go, 'What was that song? It should have been on the radio.' And it might hit a wave again."
