Coldplay Collects Fourth #1 Album
May 28, 2014

Coldplay's Ghost Stories bows at #1 on the sales chart this week, scoring the biggest sales debut of any album this year. Ghost Stories sold 383,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, giving Coldplay its fourth #1 album. The streak follows 2011's Mylo Xyloto, 2008's Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends, and 2005's X&Y. Coldplay's sales numbers also were bolstered strongly by downloads, as the digital version sold 245,000 copies (64 percent of its total), notes Billboard.

Debuting at #2 is Country singer Brantley Gilbert with his third album, Just As I Am, selling 211,000 copies.
Michael Jackson's Xscape is #3 in its second week with 67,000, and the Frozen soundtrack is #4 with 65,000. Last week's chart-topping effort, the Black Keys' Turn Blue, falls to #5 with 54,000, and the Now 50 compilation is #6 this week with 51,000.

Phillip Phillips' second album, Behind the Light, enters the chart at #7 with 41,000 units sold. The soundtrack to the film The Fault In Our Stars opens at #8 with 34,000. It features songs from Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Jake Bugg, Birdy and many others. Rounding out the Top 10 this week is Iggy Azalea with The New Classic at #9 selling 22,000, and Rascal Flatts' Rewind at #10 with just under 22,000 sold.
