Quick Hits: Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Metallica

Justin Timberlake
Justin Timberlake's latest single, "Not A Bad Thing," has reached #1 on both Billboard's Pop Songs chart and Hot AC chart, giving JT the record for the most Pop Song #1s for a male solo artist. He has now landed seven chart-toppers, as "Not A Bad Thing" follows the #1 hits: "Mirrors," "Summer Love," "What Goes Around... Comes Around," "My Love," "SexyBack," and "Rock Your Body."

Adding a new element to the show So You Think You Can Dance, Justin Bieber and his choreographer, Nick DeMoura, will introduce dance crews from across the country that will vie for a spot on the season finale. Beginning this week on the two-hour season premiere, airing Wednesday night on FOX, Bieber and DeMoura will showcase two dance crews on each of the four audition episodes. After the crews are showcased, hash tags will be revealed that viewers can use to tweet their favorite of the two crews. The tweets will be tallied and the most popular crew overall will be invited to perform on the finale.

Metallica's self-titled 1991 album, a.k.a. "The Black Album," has hit a new sales milestone, as it has become the first album to sell 16 million copies since SoundScan started tracking sales data in 1991. Metallica sold another 3,000 copies in the week ending May 25, bringing its cumulative total to 16,002,000, Billboard reports. That album, along with Shania Twain's Come On Over, are the only two records that have sold more than 15 million copies in the SoundScan era. Meanwhile, Metallica has been writing songs for its next effort, although there's no word on when the new album might be finished.
