John Mayer found himself on Clear Channel’s fast track rather swiftly as he ascended from an internship at KC101/New Haven in 2006 to an APD/air talent gig in 2009, a post he held there for three and a half years. It didn’t take long for the powers to be at CC to recognize his talents company-wide and when an APD/air talent position became available at WRVW/Nashville, Mayer was quickly called into service in Music City.
