At the MTV studio, Ariana Grande posed with Republic Records co-founders and chief executives Monte and Avery Lipman, EVP Charlie Walk, and manager Scooter Braun.
Ariana Grande will be perform her new single, "Break Free," at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on August 24. On Wednesday, Grande appeared on a special edition of MTV's TRL, re-dubbed Total Ariana Live, to debut the new Zedd-produced track, but the VMAs will be her first live performance of the song. Ariana's debut album, My Everything, is due in stores on August 25.
Madonna has been periodically teasing her upcoming record via posts on Instagram, and fans know that she has been working on new tunes with several different producers. One of those beat-makers, Diplo, recently told Idolator that "We've written about seven songs now, and hopefully maybe four or five will make it to the album." Diplo added: "I've done about three weeks with her, and we’re gonna do some more projects at the end of July. She’s just really cool. I think as far as artists reinventing themselves, she did it before anybody else. She kind of began that trend of actually coming back with a whole new look and style and sound and winning it and hitting the top of the charts. Those records are gonna be crazy-sounding. We really pushed the envelope with some of the stuff we were doing." Madonna's new album will be the follow-up to 2012's MDNA.
Korn will release a deluxe reissue of their 2013 album, The Paradigm Shift: World Tour Edition. The collection will be exclusively available at Best Buy stores in North America starting on July 15. The reissue will include three brand new songs: "Hater," "The Game Is Over" and "So Unfair." In addition, it's been beefed up with a bevy of live tracks and expanded artwork.
Miley Cyrus has added Lily Allen to the bill for seven dates on the Bangerz tour this summer. Allen will join Miley from August 1 to 10, before launching her own headlining tour in September.
Shakira will perform "La La La (Brazil 2014)," featuring Brazilian artist Carlinhos Brown, at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup. It will be the singer's third consecutive FIFA World Cup performance.
