Columbia Records has appointed Darice Lee to Associate Director of Rock and Alternative Promotion, it was announced today by Mike DePippa, Vice President of Alternative and Rock Promotion for Columbia. Lee joins the Columbia promotion staff from Def Jam Records.
            DePippa remarked, “We couldn’t be more excited to have Darice join the Columbia promotion team. Darice’s reputation is second to none, and her passion for music is unmatched. We are looking forward to breaking many artists with her in the future.”
            Previously, Lee was the Los Angeles Regional Promotion Manager for Island Def Jam, where she joined the company in September 2008.  Prior to that, Lee held regional promotion positions at Reprise Records and Wind Up Records, and also worked in the promotion department at V2 Records.  Lee began her career in 1998 as a programming assistant at KROQ/Los Angeles. 

Evan Lipschutz is named VP, A&R for Atlantic Records. Lipschutz joins Atlantic from Mercury/Island Records, where he spent the past six years, most recently as VP of A&R. While there, he worked closely with such artists as The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Neon Trees, Nick Jonas, Portishead, Parachute, Airborne Toxic Event, and many others. Lipschutz began his music industry career in 2001 as an intern at Epic Records. Hired that same year to do A&R for Daylight/Epic, he went on to work with Good Charlotte, Phantom Planet, Shakira, and Anastacia, among others. 

Yahoo! Sports Radio announced today the addition of radio veteran Jeffrey Schwartz to the newly-created position of EVP, Corporate Strategy. Schwartz will oversee business growth and partnerships, in addition to working with Management to advance programming strategy, multi-platform marketing and promotional opportunities, and affiliate and talent relations. Also joining the network is Amanda Deutchman in the new position of Director, Marketing and Business Development.

Television executive Amy Thurlow is named COO and CFO for dick clark productions. Thurlow most recently served as CFO and EVP of Sales Strategy for TV Guide Network.

FMQB offers condolences to family and friends of Bob Ausfeld, GM and radio manager for Albany Broadcasting/Albany who passed away Sunday evening (7/13). The Albany Business Review reports Ausfeld died from complications while recovering from heart transplant surgery in Boston.
