Quick Hits: Beyonce, Teen Choice Awards, Aaliyah, The Roots
July 18, 2014

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced today it will celebrate Beyonce's fashion history in a new exhibit. Opening next Tuesday, July 22, the exhibit will feature her black leotard from the iconic "Single Ladies" video and her outfit from last year's Super Bowl halftime show, among other items, according to multiple reports.

Iggy Azalea

Another round of nominations were added to the Teen Choice Awards yesterday, with a ton of new musical categories added to the show. Billboard reports that Iggy Azalea grabbed five nominations, in addition to the one she already had. Ariana Grande was nominated three times. The complete list of nods can be found at www.teenchoiceawards.com.

Zendaya Coleman recently dropped out of the upcoming Aaliyah biopic, but it was announced today that actress Alexandra Shipp now has been cast as the late singer. Oddly enough, the Lifetime film is replacing a Disney actress with one from the Nickelodeon stable of young actors. The news came from TV and radio host Wendy Williams, who is now on board as an executive producer of the movie, according to Spin.

FMQB sends its condolences to the family and friends to Rich Nichols, the longtime manager and mentor of The Roots. Nichols had been suffering from leukemia. Nichols was closely involved in all aspects of the veteran Hip-Hop band's career and was credited as a producer, executive producer and A&R man on their albums as well as many releases by their peers.
