Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V Coming October 28
August 14, 2014

Lil Wayne appeared on ESPN's SportsCenter this morning to reveal the album cover and release date for Tha Carter V. Weezy said the album will drop on October 28 and the cover is adorned with a photo of Wayne as a toddler along with his mother (unbeknownst to her).

"I didn't tell her about the picture I was using for the album," the rapper said of his mother. "I know personally she doesn't really like that picture of herself." But Wayne, who regularly uses a baby picture of himself on his albums, said this release is special to him and including his mother was "more than an accomplishment, it was an achievement."

Tha Carter V comes three years after the release of Tha Carter IV, and it could be Wayne's final solo album ever. "I've been rapping since I was eight years old. That's a long time," he recently told MTV. "I'd like to do so many more things, and when I like to do something, I end up loving to do it real quick. When I love to do something, I'm fully focused on it and it only. Music is sometimes not that 'it'."

One of the other things Wayne is focusing on is his new sports agency business. The rapper recently formed a partnership with PolarisSports and his first client is international soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. On the flip side, Weezy also recently told MTV that he will be dropping another project called Da Other Album two months after Tha Carter V hits stores.

Meanwhile, the Drake vs. Lil Wayne co-headlining tour kicked off last week and is set to wrap on September 27 in Woodlands, TX.
