National Association of Broadcasters President/CEO Gordon Smith will deliver a keynote address at the 39th annual Conclave Learning Conference on November 15 at 9 a.m. The Learning Conference, being held at the Crown Plaza Hotel Airport in Minneapolis, is presented in partnership with the Minnesota Broadcasters Association (MBA).

Conclave Chair Mark Bolke says, "Senator Smith is broadcasting’s voice in DC. Whether you are in programming, news, sales, or station management, what happens in Congress and at the Federal Communications Commission directly impacts our collective future. Senator Smith’s keynote will instill in all of us the ongoing need to protect our industry’s interests and preserve its status as America’s premier source for music, entertainment, news, and emergency information."

"With the broadcasting industry facing unprecedented legal, regulatory, and competitive challenges, Senator Smith and the NAB are leading the charge in Washington," says MBA President/CEO Jim du Bois. "We are honored that Senator Smith is taking time from his busy schedule to share his insights on key issues facing radio and television broadcasters. We are also looking forward to hearing his vision for the industry’s future as it adapts to rapidly changing media consumption habits and a shift to mobile distribution platforms."

The day-and-a-half Learning Conference kicks off with a Radio & TV Career Fair and Air Check Clinic on Friday afternoon, November 14, followed by a special keynote from Emmis Communications President/CEO Jeff Smulyan on the NextRadio® mobile platform. A gala reception concludes the first day of the combined MBA and Conclave Learning Conference.

Three distinct learning tracks are planned for Saturday November 15. The Programming and Talent Track will feature interactive sessions concentrating on programming emphasizing advanced talent development. The Management Track will focus on adapting to emerging digital platforms, improving management skills, and how to enhance employee recruitment and retention. Finally, the Sales Track will feature sessions covering everything from the basics to developing new digital revenue streams. Saturday highlights include a kick-off keynote, a unique luncheon, and a not-to-be-missed send-off cocktail reception to end the day.

A complete Learning Conference agenda is now available on the Conclave website - theconclave.com.
