Don Cannon
FMQB offers condolences to the family and friends of Legendary Philadelphia DJ/Air Personality Don Cannon who passed away peacefully Friday Morning, at the age of 74, reports 6abc.com. Cannon was known as “The Dean of Philadelphia Radio,” he was a fixture on morning radio in Philly from 1969 until his retirement in 2004. The Cannon in the Morning show started on WIBG and has been heard on WIP, WFIL, WIFI, WSNI and WOGL. He also spent time in the programming departments of WSNI and WPGR. Nationally, Cannon's voice was featured in the original Rocky movie, when the morning alarm clock goes off for Rocky's run, it's Cannon's voice you hear on the radio. He is survived by his wife Terri, two sons and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Sunday at Levine Funeral Home in Trevose, PA. There's atribute page set-up on WOGL FM website where Cannon last hosted mornings from 1990 to 2004.

Don Gosselin exits the OM post at CCM+E New Orleans. Gosselin also served as PD at Country WNOE.

Rhythmic CHR KWYD/Boise has parted ways with midday talent Devin James. Stay tuned for news on a replacement. In the meantime, the station will continue to roll 101 minutes commercial free weekdays at 10am.

NRG Media LLC announced today that it has purchased stations KOKZ-FM; KFMW-FM, KXEL-AM and KWLO-AM in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa metro area from Woodward Communications, Inc.
        Mary Quass, CEO of NRG Media said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to add the stations in Waterloo/Cedar Falls to our platform. We continue to look for great radio properties that are located in the Midwest and are an integral part of the communities they serve.” Quass added, “NRG is pleased to be adding these strong stations to our company of great local radio stations.”

Hunter Greene, Promotion Director at CHR KKHH and Country KILT/Houston exits. Greene is joining the Houston Zoo as Sponsorship Manager.

Eric Austin is named afternoon host at AC WWFW/Fort Wayne.

Stork Stop: Congratulations to Capitol's Joe Rainey and hife wife LJ on the birth last night of Harrison Christopher. The not-so-little baby boy weighed in at a healthy 10lbs 8oz.
