Wiz Khalifa Earns First #1 Album, Taylor Swift Debuts At #1 With New Single

Hip Hop star Wiz Khalifa grabs his first #1 album as Blacc Hollywood sits high atop the Top 200 Album chart selling over 90,000 copies, according to Nielson SoundScan. The album is also standing tall atop a range of other rankings, including Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Rap Albums, R&B Albums, and Digital Albums charts. The soundtrack to Guardians Of The Galaxy dips to #2 in the country selling another 64,000 copies. Country Star Chase Rice debuts at #3 with Ignite The Night selling 44,000. Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Motley Crue debuts at #5 selling 31,000. The Frozen soundtracks dips to #6 while Sam Smith In The Lonely Hour holds at #7. 5 Seconds Of Summer sits at #8 while legenday former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley scores his first Top 10 album as Space Invader debuts at #9. Rounding out the Top 10 is Ed Sheeran's x.

 


Big News in Digital Singles sales as Taylor Swift debuts at #1 with "Shake It Off" which sold more than 544,000 downloads. According to Billboard, it's the biggest sales week of 2014 and the 4th largest debut week ever. The explosive sales combined with massive multi-format radio airplay has also led to Swift debuting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's the first single from Swift's forthcoming new album 1989 is due to hit stores on October 17.
