Deep Well Records Enters Exclusive Worldwide Agreement With Virgin Records/CMG
July 14, 2015

Adam Anders
Adam Anders, the highly successful producer and songwriter who has sold more than 100 million albums and created music for some of the most successful films and television shows in history, has signed an exclusive worldwide agreement with Capitol Music Group that will establish his Deep Well Records as an associated label within CMG’s Virgin Records.  The deal was announced today by Anders, CMG’s Chairman & CEO Steve Barnett and CMG COO Michelle Jubelirer.  Anders and Deep Well Records staff will be based in CMG’s iconic Capitol Tower in Hollywood.

Under the terms of the agreement, Anders and Deep Well Records are charged with discovering new and developing recording artists and furnishing their services to Virgin on a case-by-case basis.  Deep Well may also call upon the services of CMG’s independent distribution division, Caroline, on a case-by-case basis for artists deemed appropriate for a more independent approach to development and releases.

According to Jubelirer, the agreement with Anders and Deep Well is of great value to CMG, “We couldn’t be happier that Adam is joining the CMG family and bringing Deep Well Records into the fold.  Adam is one of music’s most talented figures, and he’ll be receiving tremendous support from CMG and Virgin that will enable him to continue his stellar record of accomplishment in the years to come.”

Anders commented, “I couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to work with Steve and Michelle, two of the most dynamic and respected executives in our industry.  With a myriad of creativity and hits, they have built something unique and special at CMG and I can't wait to be a part of what I feel is the hottest building in the music business.   It's a dream situation.”

Adam Anders has established an unparalleled track record of writing and producing some of the world’s most popular songs for both established and developing artists, including Cee-Lo Green, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Backstreet Boys, Clay Aiken, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jesse McCartney, CeCe Winans, Nick Lachey, Ashley Tisdale and The McClymonts.

His music can also be heard on many major motion pictures, movies made for television, and television shows including, Glee, Disney’s High School Musical 3, The Young Victoria, Cheetah Girls 3, Evan Almighty, The Wedding Planner, Rugrats In Paris, Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2, Hannah Montana, and Starstruck, to name a few.

In addition, Anders served as the Executive Music Producer for the Warner Brothers film Rock Of Ages film and soundtrack, a project whose original score was composed by Anders and Peer Astrom, with all of its songs being produced by the pair, as well. The film and chart-topping soundtrack features performances by Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, Alex Baldwin, Diego Boneta and Malin Akerman, all crafted by Anders. Rock Of Ages remained the #1 soundtrack on the charts for more five weeks and sold nearly 200,000 copies in its’ first month of release.  Anders also received a Grammy nomination for the album in the category of “Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.”

Anders role as Executive Music Producer for FOX-TV’s wildly popular television show Glee resulted in two #1 Billboard Singles, eight  #1 iTunes singles and #1 ringtone, three Hot Shot Debuts on the Billboard Charts within two months, more than 70 million singles and 18-million albums sold worldwide, two Grammy nominations, two Golden Globes for Best Musical or Comedy TV Series (2010 and 2011,)  two People’s Choice Awards for “Favorite New TV Comedy”, Platinum certifications for Glee Albums Vol. 1 & 2, and a record breaking 18 singles in the Top 100 on iTunes at the same time.

With Anders at the helm, the cast of Glee passed the Beatles for most appearances among non-solo acts in Billboard’s more-than 50-year history.  Glee now holds the record for the most single entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 123, exceeding Elvis Presley’s 108.

Anders has broken numerous music chart records and earned four Grammy nominations, two People’s Choice Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and an Australian ARIA Award.  Outside of the recording studio, he runs Anders Media, a production company that specializes in developing original music-driven content for major Film Studios and TV Networks.
