The 2017 Academy Award nominations were announced this morning, with Justin Timberlake's smash hit "Can't Stop the Feeling" earning a nod for Best Original Song. The other nominees in the category were "Audition" and "City of Stars" from La La Land, the Lin Manuel Miranda-penned "How Far I'll Go" from Moana and "The Empty Chair" by J. Ralph & Sting from Jim: The James Foley Story. La La Land leads this year's Oscar nominees with a record-tying 14 nods. The Academy Awards will be handed out on February 26 on ABC.
Fifth Harmony, Carly Rae Jepsen and Nick Jonas will all perform as part of this weekend's NHL All-Star Game festivities. Billboard reports that Jepsen will sing the Canadian National Anthem, Fifth Harmony will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" and Jonas will be part of the second intermission entertainment. The NHL All-Star Game will be held this Sunday, January 29 in Los Angeles.
Influential alt-rockers Pixies will tour this spring, announcing a run of North American dates starting in Pomona, CA on April 21 and wrapping up in Brooklyn, NY on May 26. The band also has dates in Japan, Australia and New Zealand in February and March as well as a number of European festival gigs this summer.
