John Mayer Announces Tour, Debuts at #2 on Billboard 200
January 30, 2017
John Mayer has announced an arena tour for this spring in support of his upcoming album The Search for Everything. The North American dates begin in Albany on March 31 and wrap up on April 22 in Las Vegas. Mayer will then play six dates in Europe in early May, including the O2 Arena in London.
Mayer's new album will be out later this year but he is releasing all the songs gradually in a series of EPs. The first EP, The Search for Everything: Wave One, debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200 this week. The EP is exclusively available as a digital release. It is the singer-songwriter's eighth release to hit the top ten.
The only other new release on the top ten is from veteran rockers AFI, with AFI (The Blood Album) at #5. Starboy from The Weeknd is still at #1, with the La La Land soundtrack at #3 and Bruno Mars' 24K Magic at #4. The top ten is rounded out by the Moana soundtrack (#6), Post Malone (#7), the Hamilton cast recording (#8), Drake (#9) and J. Cole (#10).
