January 31, 2017
The Recording Academy has announced a number of additional artists slated to perform at next month's 59th Annual Grammy Awards. The Weeknd will team up with Daft Punk, presumably for his hit single "Starboy." Daft Punk's last live performance was actually at the Grammys, when they won Album of the Year in 2014.
Best New Artist nominee Maren Morris is slated to perform alongside Alicia Keys. The unique combination of A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Grohl and Best New Artist nominee Anderson .Paak will all perform together as well.
They join previously announced performers Adele, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban as part of the Grammy celebration, set to air Sunday, February 12 on CBS.
In related news, a number of high-profile artists are not expected to appear at the awards show. Most notably, eight-time nominee Drake will miss the Grammys as he will be on tour in Manchester, England that night. Additionally, TMZ is reporting that both Kanye West and Justin Bieber may skip out on the Grammys as well.
