Chicago's Riot Fest announced its 2017 lineup this morning, with a massive eclectic list of artist. Headlining night one is Nine Inch Nails, while night two is led by Queens of the Stone Age and night three features a reunion of punk rock cult faves Jawbreaker, who have not played together in two decades. Also slated to perform are New Order, Paramore, Prophets of Rage, M.I.A., the Wu-Tang Clan, TV on the Radio, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and many, many more acts. The UK's Ivor Novello Award nominees have been announced, with Coldplay interestingly competing against themselves in the same category. For the Most Performed Work, the band's "Adventure of a Lifetime" and "Hymn for the Weekend" are both nominated, facing off with "When We Were Young" by Adele. Other nominees for the Novello Awards include Michael Kiwanuka, Laura Mvula and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
Big Boi will release his third solo record, Boomiverse "soon." The ex-Oukast MC announced that he will unveil a pair of new tracks from the release tomorrow: "Mic Jack" featuring Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Jeezy and Killer Mike and another titled "Kill Jill." It is Big Boi's first solo release since 2012.
The latest music festival is the all new Lost Lake Festival in Phoenix. Set to run October 20-22, the lineup is led by Chance the Rapper, The Killers, The Roots, Pixies, Major Lazer, Run the Jewels, Haim, Ludacris, Odesza and many more. The festival comes from the creators of Bonnaroo and the Outside Lands Festival.
Third Eye Blind will celebrate the 20-year anniversary of its eponymous debut this summer with an expanded version of the multi-platinum album that includes several unreleased recordings. The band will also headline an extensive North American tour that begins on June 9 in Miami where the band will play the album in its entirety. The deluxe reissue will be out as a 2-CD set, a three-LP vinyl edition and digitally.
