Tommy Chuck Named PD At WFLZ/Tampa
November 29, 2006

Tommy Chuck

Clear Channel continues to make programming moves within the company as WXXL/Orlando PD Tommy Chuck has been named PD at WFLZ/Tampa. Chuck replaces Kane who recently joined his Tampa predecessor Jeff Kapugi at WIHT/Washington, D.C., for mornings.

In an internal memo, CC RVPP Doug Hamand remarked, "It is with great excitement that Brad [Hardin] and I announce the hiring of Tommy Chuck to the WFLZ PD position. Tommy is a great guy currently programming WXXL for Clear Channel in Orlando. Tommy's experience also includes programming WQEN/Birmingham, KISS in Chattanooga, and experience in Knoxville and Charleston,WV. Tommy has also been learning from some of our best programmers over the years, like Clay Hunnicutt (RVPP Nashville) and CHR extraordinaire Jeff Kapugi (you might remember him)."

Hamand added, "Tommy and I worked together for three years at Clear Channel Birmingham, where he showed great ability in compelling promotions, outstanding product execution, passion and a huge heart!!"

Chuck tells FMQB, "I'm sad that my time in Orlando was so short. Linda Byrd and Chris Kampmier are the best GM/OM's a PD could ever work for. Whoever replaces me at WXXL is walking into a GREAT environment with a great team. It's really hard to leave them. As for Tampa, it's hard to put into words what it feels like to see your name next to huge call-letters like WFLZ. I'm giddy. Thanks so much to Tom Schurr, Marc Chase, Dan Diloreto, Doug Hamand and Brad Hardin for putting their trust in me."

Chuck will be in place in Tampa after the first of the year.
