Beyoncé Knowles has signed her first licensing agreement to produce a line of apparel for young women, reports the New York Post. The Tarrant Apparel Group, which makes clothes under the American Rag, Cie and Gear 7 names, will produce the line that will target women ages 18 to 28 for the House of Dereon, the fashion brand that Knowles named for her grandmother, Agnes Dereon (pronounced De-ron). "There will be a lot of sexy tops, sweaters and party dresses, things that I would wear either on or off the red carpet," Knowles said, descibing the line that is expected to hit stores for the 2005 holiday season that will also include sportswear and denim.
The line will feature a lot of "beading and detailing," said Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother, who along with her daughter has formed Beyond Productions, a joint venture with Kids Headquarters to develop and license the House of Dereon brand.
