Quick Hits: Maroon 5 & Rihanna, Scott Weiland, Roger Waters' Pig, Judas Priest
April 30, 2008

Rihanna

Maroon 5's Adam Levine will stand underneath Rihanna's duet-umbrella, as the two will join forces on a remix of Maroon 5's song "If I Never See Your Face Again." The song will appear on June re-releases of both artists' latest albums. Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad re-release is due June 17, while Maroon 5's It Won't Be Soon Before Long will be out later that same month. "Maroon 5 is a big fan of Rihanna; they have seen her at shows, their paths have crossed and they are buddies," A&M/Octone President, James Diener told Billboard.com. "Adam thought it would be amazing to make the song into a 'battle of the sexes'-style duet, and she was the first person they thought of."

Entertainment Weekly reports that Scott Weiland will complete his sentence for drunk driving in time to join the freshly reunited Stone Temple Pilots for their 65-date tour this summer. As reported yesterday, after completing the 192 hour jail sentence, Weiland will also receive four years probation, a $2,000 fine and must take part in an 18-month alcohol program.

Yesterday, we told you about Roger Waters and the reward for his missing, floating pig from the weekend's Coachella festival. The porker has been found, though apparently already sliced up for bacon. Two Indio, CA couples found pieces of the recently freed, flying pink pig scattered in their lawns, according to Entertainment Weekly. "That's definitely our pig," said Coachella producer Bill Fold. Susan Stoltz found a plastic heap in her driveway Monday, but said she didn't know what it was until she read about the missing pig in the Desert Sun newspaper. "My kids are going to think I'm so cool," she said. Another resident of the same neighborhood, Judy Rimmer, said she found a piece of the pig draped over a front-yard plant. The two couples will split the $10,000 reward given by the concert promoters.

In anticipation of the June 17 release of Judas Priest's new concept album, Nostradamus, singer Rob Halford and guitarists Glenn Tipton and KK Downing will be doing the group's first in-store signings in over two decades. The in-stores will be occurring Thursday, May 8 at Hot Topic at the King Of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania, and on Friday, May 9 at Vintage Vinyl in Woodbridge, NJ. Meanwhile, Priest's Metal Masters tour with Heaven And Hell, Motorhead and Testament will kick off August 6 in Camden, NJ.
