In an interview with OK! Magazine, Britney Spears talks about her next album and pursuing an acting career. The Pop princess is currently hard at work on her yet-to-be-titled album. "I think it is more urban. I'm working with producers who are just amazing," Spears told OK!. She predicts the album will be out in the next six to nine months. It will feature songs produced by The Underdogs. Spears also stated that she wrote more for this album than any other album in her career. "This is my best work ever," she said. The singer said that her recent appearance on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother has lead to more potential acting gigs, and an offer for a movie just came up. "I'd love to, if I can find the right movie," she said. "We're just trying to work it out with my schedule, with the children."

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus was able to hang onto the #2 spot with her album Breakout. After 44 weeks on the charts Kid Rock's Rock and Roll Jesus stands strong at the #4 spot for the third straight week. There were only a handful of notable debuts this week, including Lloyd's Lessons In Love which debuted at #7 with 51,000 copies sold. Conor Oberst's self-titled solo album debuts at #15. Rockers Trapt debut at #18 with Only Through The Pain and Hawthorne Heights impact at #23 with Fragile Future.Memphis authorities have concluded that Isaac Hayes died from a stroke related to high blood pressure. The Soul icon, who won an Oscar for writing the theme song to the movie "Shaft," was being treated for high blood pressure and suffered a non-fatal stroke last year. Hayes' body was found Sunday next to a running treadmill in his Memphis home and there was no indication that he had hit his head or suffered any trauma.
After spending the past few years promoting their album The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance has decided to put the band on the backburner for a while and pursue other interests before writing a new album. Singer Gerard Way has been working on his comic book series The Umbrella Academy, while brother Mikey Way has been penning his own comic book as well. Guitarist Frank Iero is starting a new band called Leathermouth, guitarist Ray Toro is getting married and drummer Bob Bryar is spending his time off in Chicago. "We can't make any more music unless we live," Way explained to MTV News. "But I'm already starting to get the ideas and the aesthetics and everything, and it's very different from The Black Parade."
Death Cab For Cutie have announced a string of headlining dates this fall in support of their latest album, Narrow Stairs. The trek kicks off October 3 at Boston's Agganis Arena with a stop October 6 at New York City's legendary Radio City Music Hall. Before the tour kicks off, Death Cab will perform in their hometown of Seattle on September 1 as a part of the Bumbershoot Festival and members of the band will perform an acoustic set at the Democratic National Convention.
