Rumors continue to build that Kanye West will release his fourth album by the end of 2008. According to multiple reports, Amazon and Target are both listing a release date of December 16 for a new record from 'Ye, titled 808's & Heartbreak. His label Def Jam has not commented publicly on the reports yet.Kanye did debut a new song, "Love Lockdown," at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, which he has also been performing live recently. The song was expected to be released as a digital single this week, but that has not happened yet. On his blog, West said this week that "Love Lockdown" was written "a week and a half ago. It's my favorite song 2 date!! Go where your heart takes you..."
According to MTV, West played a surprise club show in New York City on Tuesday night, where he performed "Love Lockdown" alongside hits such as "Can't Tell Me Nothing," with Q-Tip and acts from West's G.O.O.D. label.
The album title, referencing the 808 drum machine, would break from Kanye's 'school' themed records.
