 Ludacris
| Ludacris sets a November 11 release date for Theater Of The Mind, his newest studio album. "I wanted an album where you could listen to it from beginning to end and it would put you in an imaginative state," Ludacris says of his sixth major label offering. "Ice Cube, Scarface, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., they paved the way for me. I feel like they're some of the greatest of all time and they lyrically and conceptually put you in this place. I want my fans to feel like they're part of the music. That's what Theater Of The Mind is all about, drawing people in." Theater Of The Mind includes cameos from T.I., T-Pain, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne. Jamie Foxx, The Game, Plies, Rick Ross and others. Luda will also co-star, under his given name Chris Bridges, in the upcoming films Max Payne and Rocknrolla. While the Red Hot Chili Peppers take some time off, Flea is spending his time in the halls of higher knowledge. The Chilis' bassist tells the Los Angeles Times he is studying music theory, jazz trumpet and composition at the University of Southern California. He tells the paper, "I think most people see it as being about commerce –- you only go to school to make money, and you already make money playing music so why would you go to school? It seems backwards but it makes perfect sense to me. My whole musical life has been an educational process and I’m just furthering my education and filling in the blanks. There’s stuff that I want to know that I don’t know." Flea adds that the band is taking a set, two year break before they reconvene and he is working on a "mostly instrumental" solo record at home. Steven Tyler has sued a handful of bloggers who have been impersonating the Aerosmith frontman online. According to the suit, Tyler claims the authors posed as him, writing about his mother's death, his girlfriend and other aspects of his life. The blogs were taken offline as of Wednesday with a note stating "This blog is under review due to possible blogger terms of service violations." A number of musicians have donated art for an auction benefiting War Child International, a non-profit that assists children in war-torn parts of the globe. R.E.M., Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie, Spoon, Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and many others have created handmade signs for the new "Protest Issue" of Under The Radar. The signs will be auctioned off via eBay beginning September 30. Saliva and Drowning Pool will team up for a co-headlining tour, along with Tantric and Jet Black Stare, beginning in St. Petersburg, FL on October 17. The tour winds up in Galamis Beach, CA on November 22. The Supersuckers will release a new album, Get It Together, on November 25. The rockers celebrate their 20th anniversary in November, as well as their tenth release on their own Mid Fi Recordings label. Supersuckers have a handful of West Coast dates in October, with a 20th anniversary show slated for Seattle on November 29.
