After the wildly successful launch of WHTZ (Z100)/New York's podcast of the station's Phone Tap segment, Clear Channel announced the immediate expansion of its podcasting initiative. CC will provide 20 new feeds from 12 more stations, with 10 more expected to launch later in the week.
Clear Channel launched the Z100 podcast two weeks ago and has already seen 20,500 segments delivered by either podcast, download or stream since the launch. The new podcasts will feature popular segments and interviews with artists and other celebrities.
"The early results from Z100's Phone Tap validated our theory - there is a huge appetite for station-created, short-form content via multiple-delivery formats," comments Clear Channel EVP/Online Music & Radio Evan Harrison.
