Quick Hits: Davids Cook & Archuleta, Jamie Foxx, Lollapalooza, The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, P.O.D., TAT
November 7, 2008

David Cook

Former American Idol finalists David Cook and David Archuleta are both set to release their debut albums this month, and Clear Channel is giving fans the chance to hear the records via IHeartMusic.com. As part of CC's Sneak Peek program, Cook's self-titled album (due November 18) and Archuleta's own self-titled release (due November 11) will both be streaming online at over 190 CC stations' Web sites. Archuleta's is available now, with Cook's Sneak Peek debuting November 13.

Actor/singer Jamie Foxx will release his third album, Intuition, on December 16 through J Records. The single "Just Like Me" featuring T.I. just arrived at radio this week. Intuition also features contributions from Timbaland, Ne-Yo and many others. Foxx's last album, Unpredictable, sold approximately 1.98 million copies in the U.S.

Lollapalooza will stay put in Chicago's Grant Park well past Barack Obama's time in the White House, even if he serves two terms. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the annual summer festival's organizers have signed on with the Windy City for at least another decade. The new contract gives Grant Park a bigger cut of some revenues. The park was the home of Obama's celebratory speech on Tuesday night following his election win.

Strokes drummer Fab Moretti tells Billboard that the New York Rock band will regroup in February, after taking some time apart to record a number of side projects. Moretti has been spending his time as one-third of the band Little Joy, who just released their own album.

Fellow New York band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are close to finishing their third full-length album. The trio posted an update on MySpace this week, saying, "You still won't be hearing it until 2009 but damn are we close to finishing it and only after a year of writing and recording!" They added, "WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?? Not much like anything you've heard from us before- DOES IT SOUND LIKE THE YEAH YEAH YEAHS??? YOU BET YOU'RE SWEET ASS IT DOES. Phew, can't wait."

Rockers P.O.D. are reportedly going "on hiatus" after scrapping a U.K. tour for February 2009. The tour, alongside Filter, had been set to visit six cities in the U.K. early next year. Filter is expected to reschedule the dates as their own headlining tour, according to the NME.

British trio TAT have released their debut album, Soho Lights, via their own Red Wagon Records. The Warped Tour veterans have debuted a new online widget to check out their music, which you can try out yourself here:
