Quick Hits: Bruce Springsteen, Guns N' Roses, Radiohead, Jackson Browne, Paul McCartney/Neil Young, Kings Of Leon, Fall Out Boy
November 20, 2008

The Boss

Bruce Springsteen's new single, "Working On A Dream," will arrive at radio tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. EST digitally, with CD copies landing on Monday morning. The song impacts Rock radio immediately, and is the first taste of the Boss' new album, also titled Working On A Dream. As reported on Monday, Springsteen's new record is due January 27, featuring 12 new songs along with bonus tracks "The Wrestler" (from the Mickey Rourke film of the same name) and "A Night With the Jersey Devil," which Springsteen offered for free online on Halloween.

Guns N' Roses' long, long, long-awaited album Chinese Democracy arrives at Best Buy this Sunday, November 23, but the full record is now streaming online at the band's MySpace page. Meanwhile, Dr. Pepper has revealed the details of how to obtain free soda in conjunction with the release of Chinese Democracy. On Sunday, anyone can visit drpepper.com, enter their information and receive a coupon for one free can of Dr. Pepper. Coupons will only be available for 24 hours on November 23 though.

Radiohead will tour again in 2009, but it is unknown how extensively. As of now, the band has three dates officially announced: March 15 and 16 in Mexico City, Mexico and March 27 in Santiago, Chile. Online reports say that Radiohead could add more dates in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil for a larger tour in March.

During the Presidential campaign, Jackson Browne was one of multiple artists who asked the McCain camp not to use their music as part of their campaign. However, Browne also sued over the use of "Running On Empty," and now The Hollywood Reporter says that McCain's campaign has filed two motions in U.S. District Court in California, fighting back against Browne's suit: a motion to dismiss and a motion seeking payment for attorney's fees and costs.

NPR Music has "exclusive first listens" to the new albums from Paul McCartney (as The Fireman) and Neil Young. The Fireman's Electric Arguments is streaming now via NPRMusic.org, and Young's new live album, Sugar Mountain, will be streaming online as of Monday, November 24 before its December 2 release.

Kings Of Leon have added more North American tour dates for early 2009, including a headlining gig on January 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The brief run of gigs begins January 20 in Louisville. The Kings have already announced dates in Europe, Australia and New Zealand for 2009 as well.

To celebrate the release of their new album Folie A Deux, Fall Out Boy will play the entire album at the Chicago Theatre in their hometown on December 2. The show will later be re-broadcast on Fuse on December 16. Meanwhile, there is no word on the impending birth of Pete Wentz's child with Ashlee Simpson.
